Rachel is a forth year History student at the University of Guelph. She is interested in using history to create a sense of community and identity. The In Unity project interested her because it allowed her to gain practical skills surrounding event, exhibit, and curriculum planning. It also gave her an opportunity to learn about Indigenous culture and the issue of Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women in Canada. Rachel hopes that In Unity will act as a platform to allow communities to discuss and learn about the issue. She also hopes to use the skills and knowledge she has gained from this experience to create future projects that will spark curiosity, education and change.
