Madeleine McDougall is the Director of Design for the I Stand #InUnity Art Team. She is a fourth year History student at the University of Guelph and is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts Honors degree. Madeleine is the current vice president of the History Society (where she has been a member since her first year). Madeleine also sits on the University of Guelph History Department’s Curriculum Committee as an undergraduate representative. In her third year, she studied in Japan to increase her understanding of diverse historical narratives. Her areas of interest include pluralistic historical studies, colonization and de-colonization, cultural appropriation, and the artistic empowerment of minorities. She hopes that experience gained through the I Stand #InUnity project will help her to become a better ally and to understand how ally-ship can be translated into other areas of historical study.
